The Delta State Governorship Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba has temporarily halted today’s governorship election petition ruling due to power outrage.

BIGPEN Online reports that power outrage occurred few minutes after the tribunal presided by Justice Sulaiman Belgore convened Friday morning.

The situation prompted the adjournment as the court became uncomfortable for the judges, counsels, litigants, politicians and journalists.

Our correspondents monitoring the ruling, report that a standby power generating set for the court broke down few days ago, and was yet to be fixed before the judgment day.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in and around the court premises on Ibusa road, Asaba even as anxiety continue to mount over the outcome of the much-awaited tribunal rulings.
