Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, the Delta South APC candidate and the governorship candidate of the party, Chief Great Ogboru have commenced series of meeting ahead the flag off of the party campaign and presidential campaign in Delta State.

The immediate past governor of the state, who was few days ago named as the chairman of the APC Campaign Council in the state on Monday met members of the campaign committees at his residence where they brainstormed ahead the campaign flag off slated for Thursday 17th January in Warri, commercial nerve centre of the state.

Impeccable sources told BigPen Online that the proposed visit of Buhari to Warri this week may be the game-changer for Ogboru who, until now, is not fully recognize as the flag bearer of the party by the Olorogun Ortega Emerhor faction who are still disenchanted by the outcome of the controversial governorship primary of the party.

According to the Director General of Delta State APC Campaign Council, George Timinimi, the flag off which would hold at the Warri Township stadium, beginning from 9.00am, would be the biggest campaign rally in the state adding that APC governors, National Assembly members, party leaders, and thousands of Deltans who have been yearning to see the President in Delta State are expected at the event.

“The presidential rally and formal flag-off of our campaign will mark a loud turning point and sign post our collective quest to decisively defeat PDP at all levels of elections in Delta State”, he said.

Timinimi, a former Commissioner for Water Resources in the state, further stated, “the APC governorship candidate, Olorogun Great Ovedje Ogboru and the Chairman of the  Delta APC Campaign Council and a former governor of Delta  state, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, will lead the teeming APC supporters and members to welcome President Buhari to the rally.

“We would have the biggest campaign rally in the state on Wednesday, even our opponents will know that the game is up ” when they see the crowd “,Timinimi boosted.

Secretary to the Campaign Council, Omaruaye Peter also told newsmen that APC in the State are coming together to welcome the President.

“The gulf that separates some of our members are closing up fast.  So we are coming all out to make a statement that Deltans are ready to cast their votes for President Buhari, for our governorship and all other candidates in Delta. But more important is the fact that the rally will offer Deltans opportunity to see the Predident and hear with their own ears the good things that will be coming to our own Delta State and of course Nigeria if we join hands to re-elect him” he stated.

BigPen Online gathered from sources that Uduaghan who pitched tent with the Ogboru/Omo-Agege faction has been trying to negotiate a deal with others to follow suit even as the Emerhor faction had stick to their guns, believing that the court would oust Ogboru as governorship candidate of the party and replace him with Pat Utomi.

Meanwhile, the end has not been seen about the protracted crisis rocking the state chapter of the party despite the efforts of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other stakeholders of the party as the two faction wrangling over who controls the structure of the party have issued two separate statement urging members to mobilize amass for the visit of Mr. President.

The faction which recognised Chief Great Ogboru as the flag bearer of the party, led by Prophet Jones Ode Erue in an earlier statement signed by Sir A.S. Mene, State Organizing Secretary APC Delta State had urged all units ,Wards, LGAs & State Excos to mobilise all party faithfuls from every nook and cranny in the State to Warri township stadium for the event.
