Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, lawmaker representing Abia South senatorial district was arrested by the operatives of DSS earlier today in Abuja.

In a report by News Express, a source close to the lawmaker said that he was picked up this afternoon in Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja over connection with the bail bond he signed for the Nnamdi Kanu, missing leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Abaribe who is a vocal critic of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, had asked the Federal High Court sitting Abuja to revoke the undertaking he took on behalf Kanu late last year.

However, he later appealed to the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to discharge him as Kanu’s surety as he has not seen or heard from Kanu since September 11, 2017 when federal troops invaded the separatist leader’s country home in Umuahia, Abia State.
