Defection: We Won’t Miss Anirah For Going Back To Swallow His Vomit – Delta APC

All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta state chapter has said that it will not miss Chief Felix Anirah whom according to the party has gone back to swallow his vomit in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), more so when he has no political clout whatsoever to hinder APC chances in the 2019 general election.

According to the party, the defection of Anirah back to PDP from where he originally came to join APC won’t affect the fortunes of APC in the 2019 general election.

Acting State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Engr. Leonard Obibi, in a statement made available to BigPen Online on Thursday in reaction to the defection, said that as a candidate of the party in the 2015 Delta State House of Assembly election, Anirah became exposed as having a questionable electoral value considering his performance in that election where he came out second.

“In politics, we also evaluate you by your reliability. Now that he has decided to swallow his vomit and has surrendered himself to his kith and kin in PDP, we will not miss him”, APC declared.

While saying that it hold no grudges against Anirah’s personal decisions, the party challenged him to be bold enough to tell Deltans the real reasons for his defection to a party he left just few years ago.

The party said that hitching his decision to leave APC on alleged claims of insensitivity of President Buhari was preposterous and laughable because according to it, “the PDP that he has now run back to was and remains the most insensitive party in the history of Nigeria, and in Delta State in particular”.

Reminding Anirah of how PDP looted the national treasury at a time Nigeria made the largest income from oil since Independence, the APC scribe said that rather than invest in Nigeria’s infrastructure or save for the rainy day, PDP looted the windfall from oil into its coffers and the pockets of its members.

Chief Felix Anirah will also recall that by the time President Buhari came to power, the Federal Government under PDP was still borrowing to pay federal staff salaries, and many states in the country including Delta were already owing workers salaries, he said.

The statement read in parts; “We honestly thank President Buhari for bailing out each and every State of Nigeria at a time the national income from oil was even at its lowest. Nobody can say he or she is not aware that the APC government under Buhari is still working hard to make sure food is available to Nigerians at affordable prices, but you cannot plant maize today and eat it tomorrow. You must give it time to grow before harvesting. The effort to feed ourselves instead of wasting billions of hard-earned dollars as PDP was doing on imported food is an indicator of our differences, and we will not stop till food security is assured in Nigeria.

“In fact, the difficulties of today were caused by the PDP government that could not free itself from its “share the money” mentality, and even till today it is still evident in Delta State where the PDP administration under Gov. Okowa continues to mismanage the state resources while local government workers and pensioners remain unpaid for many months. We are bold to say the PDP where Anirah has gone back to is the most insensitive “squandermania” of all time.

“PDP-led government under Okowa in Delta State continues to share and waste the people’s wealth as it is with DESOPADEC funds, while majority of the people wallow in misery. This “share-the-money” mentality is already part of and is wired deep into the DNA of PDP, and it shows in the empty moral fibre of those that rule PDP. This is contrary to what APC stands for.

“APC stands to be different and our doors are open to everyone, but anyone who comes in with that PDP idea of “share-the-money” has “missed road” as we say it in Delta. As far as APC is concerned, the money is for the people and it will be used for the people. And anyone who joins our party with the intention to rob our people of their God-given heritage may not find APC comfortable, and it won’t be surprising if such people ‘delete” themselves as Chief Felix Anirah has now done.

“APC as a party has chosen to stand with the majority of Delta State, and this is why we encourage all Deltans to begin to think deep and reflect on the many years of misery that PDP has brought into their lives with no jobs and no first-class infrastructure anywhere to show for yearly huge budgetary expenditure since 1999.

“Deltans must seriously begin to worry about all those empty promises that have not been fulfilled for over 18 years and make a decision. It is whether to continue to live under the yoke and deceit of the PDP or to free themselves from bondage.

“On a general note, APC is far stronger than we were a few years ago. So, the defection of Chief Anirah does not distort our confidence at the grassroots. We are not a party that relies solely on a few individuals to rig elections for us; therefore the removal of any hand that “causes us to sin” only helps to make us a better party for the people”.
