Okowa Aide Alleges Grand Conspiracy To Frustrate His Work…Says ‘A Cabal In Govt House Asaba’ Want To Make Him “Mere Rubber-Stamp”

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s Executive Assistant on Communications, Barr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has alleged that there is a grand conspiracy against his work as the governor’s aide, alluding to the fact that a ‘cabal in the administration’ want to make him a rubber stamp.

Oghenesivbe, in a open letter to Governor Okowa posted on his Facebook page, stated that there are strong indications of acute internal conspiracy by some persons to ensure that his appointment as Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications is purely “without portfolio and mere rubber-stamp.”

BigPen Online gathered that Oghenesivbe was a loose cannon that was brought in from the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) where he formally worked with the 2015 governorship candidate of the APC, Olorogun Ortega Emerhor.

Okowa was said to have brought him into the PDP fold to whittle down his barrage on the government unknowing to him.

It was learnt that since Okowa negotiated a working deal with him, besides picking his stipends monthly, his office is grossly starved and limited to counter social media attacks against the government whereas the office of his counterpart and Chief Press Secretary to the Governor reportedly gets over N18million monthly imprest to play with.

Oghenesivbe, who merely run from one government office to another posing on photographs with officials and pasting same on Facebook to justify his appointment is said not to have an office space or accommodation in Asaba.

He has been staying in a hotel where he was lodged after his appointment, a source said.

Confirming this development in an open letter to the governor, Oghenesivbe wrote; “That to be a rubber-Stamp appointee without portfolio is to say the least most uncivilized, undemocratic and it kills talents and morals; in many cases it crashes bright carreer prospects and renders the affected person almost redundant.

According to him, since assumption of office as EA Communications to the Governor, he have been very active on duty both in dealing with “offensive and defensive issues”; “such that it will be unjust and ridiculous to want to make me a Rubber-Stamp appointee either technically, directly or indirectly”.

He stated that the ‘supposed cabal in the government’ have treated him as “an appointee without portfolio which he likened to “a sheep without shepherd”, saying since he came in, he knows little or nothing about the inner workings of government.

Oghenesivbe also lamented that those trying to frustrate his working as Executive Assistant on Communications to the governor had block him from getting working tools, conducive office space and entitlemnts to enhance his performance.

“That I shall continue to discharge my duties to the best of my abilities in line with my assigned responsibilities. It is fair and just that I should be given the desired physical working tools, conducive office space and entitlemnts to enhance my performance.

“That this release is issued in absolute good Faith as a public document to draw the attention of the Governor to my plight due to circumstances beyond my control in reaching positive internal agreement with the authorities since my appointment in April, 2017. The governor should please invoke the seal of state to dispense justice in this regard.

“That I absolutely reject the coded plan by some persons within the system to restrict the functions of the EA Communications to social media activities as against what the scope of functions of my office entails in the chain of command This internal conspiracy should be looked into by His Excellency and dispense justice and equity.

BigPen Online reports that Governor Okowa in one form or another had ran Delta state as a de facto one-party state with no opposition from any end against what was envisaged prior to Oghenesivbe appointment until recently when a chieftain of APC muscle the political will to challenges what he described as black budget which contentiously became a bad press for the government.
