32yrs Old Man Begs FG, Delta Govt. For N4million Assistance For Hip-Joint Operation In India


Obas, a shoe and clothe seller has been finding it difficult to walk, move, stand and bend since he was involved in boat mishap which claimed the lives of nine persons along the Escravos River in Warri South-West Local Government Area on the 24th March, 2017.
The problem which a Consultant Radiologist/Sonologist, Dr. Onyemesili.J.C. described as bilateral femoral heads avascular necrosis and bilateral hip joint osteoarthritic changes has been worsening progressively with Obas financially handicapped to continue his twenty thousand naira weekly medication at UBTH let alone raise the four million naira for his operation in India.

To worsen matters, Obas has been deserted by his wife and family with a quit notice from his landlord due to the ailment.
Obas said that when he opened his eyes, he discovered he was at the UBTH and the only thing he could remember was that he was referred from the Central Hospital Warri.

Obas noted that he lost goods worth one hundred and five thousand naira in the unfortunate incident.
He said,”It was at UBTH it was discovered that I have bilateral femoral heads avascular necrosis and bilateral hip joint osteoarthritic changes in his body.
“My wife ran away and my family abandoned me. I sleep inside Keke since three weeks when I returned from UBTH. I also sleep inside stores. If civil Defence sees me, I explain to them. I have also slept in Barbing saloons before I started sleeping inside that church in Bright Hope Street”, he lamentated.
