Ologbotsere: Olley Seeks Lori-Ogbebor, Others’ Support For Olu Of Warri, Ayirimi Emami

Chief Ayirimi Emami, the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom

Frontline Itsekiri Leader, Chief (Mrs) Rita Lori-Ogbebor, Itsekiri Leaders of Thought and all Itsekiri have been tasked to sustain their known patriotism and honour for the Olu of Warri crown, HRM, Ogiame Ikenwoli, to who they appear estranged over choice of Chief Ayirimi Emami as Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom.

National Coordinator of Niger Delta Grassroots Organization (NDGO), Itsekiri-born Comrade Weyinmi Olley who made the call in Warri, says the Olu rather displayed wisdom, foresight and admirable comportment with his subjects in the matter and deserve support.

“He was not hasty in the choice of Chief Ayirimi Emami whose name kept appearing over time in the nominees from the family of Ologbotsere traditionally empowered to present same for the title. We cannot be right if we attempt to deprive the Olu of his right of discretion in choosing, as tradition requires, from the nominations based on his convictions and still claim he is our presiding king”, Olley said.

“Let me observe that HRM Ateke Tom was accepted and recently crowned as King of Okochiri town in Wakirike , Rivers state, not because he had no issues with people but largely for his patriotism among other considerations. Chief Gani Adams despite also being a young man is the accepted designate of Aare Ona kakanfo of Yoruba Land, a title once held by internationally revered Chief M.K.O. Abiola of blessed memory. The defining determinant is Chief Adams’ patriotic zeal in advancing Yoruba cause, not that he had no issues with people. Chief Ayirimi Emami appears to me to hold potential to fit into that mould for the Itsekiri nation”, Olley submitted.

“Chief Ayirimi Emami may have offended people in his sojourn through life but who has not offended people? A smoothening of relationships is possible, ongoing and working. A defining character of Chief Emami, which even his detractors would agree with, is the depth of his patriotism in advancing  Itsekiri cause—qualities the Olu cannot ignore in deciding who becomes Ologbotsere of a Kingdom he is preparing for a forward match”, Olley argued.

Comrade Olley therefore appealed to the Itsekiri nation to heed the call of unity by HRM Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri, adding that the installed Ologbotsere’s already manifest maturity will gain traction with time.
