Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has said that irrespective of political differences, as a sitting governor he does not discriminate against any Deltan, saying I’m not discriminating, I am carrying everybody along.

The governor spoke at three separate rallies of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),held in Patani local government area, Patani, Uvwie local government area, Effurun and Warri South local government area at Warri in preparation for the forthcoming council elections in the state slated for January 6, 2018.

Speaking earlier in Patani, Governor Okowa assured the electorates that candidates of the PDP will not discriminate against the people, just as he does not discriminate against Deltans irrespective of their party affiliations.

“I am not discriminating, I am carrying everybody along and I know that the candidates will not discriminate after winning the elections because, they will be your representatives.”, he said.

Okowa urged candidates of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who are preparing for the local government elections to continued with their vigorous campaign and never take things for granted.

The governor was accompanied by his Deputy, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, immediate past Governor of the state, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and other top chieftains of the party to the Warri rally.

Governor Okowa who was visibly excited at the turn out of people for the campaigns, called on party faithfuls to ensure that they collect their voters card to justify the mammoth crowd participating in the party’s rallies.

According to him, PDP obviously is a formidable party in Delta state, and all PDP candidates would surely secure victory in the council elections but emphasized that what matters is the margin with which such victory is secured.

“Get your people to register and collect their voters cards to increase your voting strength, it is not enough to say you have won, the margin with which you win matters a lot, engage in rigourous campaign and don’t take things for granted,” the Governor said.

While speaking in Warri, he said that it was good that leaders of the party are united to deliver candidates of the party who would work for the common purpose of delivering dividends of democracy to the people.

Former Governor Emmannuel Uduaghan who spoke briefly at the rally, reeled out some of the achievements of the PDP-led government in the state, noting that the party has endeared itself to the people through the execution of people-oriented projects.
