Okowa Returns From Vacation, Attends PDP Governor’s  Meeting  In Enugu

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has return from his vacation abroad.
The governor who left the state for a short foreign trip to complete his annual leave was said to have returned over the weekend.
Before he travelled, he had transmitted his duties to his deputy,  Barr. Kingsley Otuaro who acted as governor while he was away.
The 13-days vacation which began from October 30, expired on Saturday November 11, 2017. His earlier leave was between June 26 and July 12, 2017.
The governor attended a social event that same day after his arrival.
BigPen Online was told that Okowa on Sunday attended a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors meeting held in Enugu state.
Meanwhile, following insinuation making the round that former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori had dumped Governor Okowa, Ibori’s publicist, Mr. Tony Eluemunor was quoted to have said Ibori’s stance on Okowa come 2019 remains the same.
Post on social media by Okowa’s aide, Mr.  Fred Latimore had fueled the impression that there was no love lost between Okowa and his ‘political godfather’, Ibori.
He however deleted the post following  the backlashes that immediately trailed it.
Following this,  a news report (not BigPen Online) had reported that Ibori may have dump Okowa, and was chopping for his replacement.
But Ibori’s Media Assistant, Eluemunor in a terse statement circulated by Okowa’s media office said “Chief James Onanefe Ibori has asked the general public to disregard the wild and spurious reports claiming to be his stand on Delta State’s Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and 2019.
Ibori said: “my stand on His Excellency, Sen (Dr) Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa’s re-election  in 2019 was made publicly, and it has not changed. The things some people manufacture but attribute to me only show the level of their desperation and deserve no direct replies.”.
BigPen Online recalled that Ibori had during a political rally by PDP in Oghara endorsed Okowa for second term, saying that the endorsement was to enable Delta North to fully support Urhobos to cliche the governorship come 2023.
