Bayelsa State SSG Resigns, Goes Back To His Community As Monarch

The Secretary to the State Government of Bayelsa State, Chief Serena Dokubo Spiff has resigned.
He threw up the towel to return to manage the affairs of his native community where he is the paramount ruler.
The State Governor, Mr.Seriake Dickson personally confirmed the resignation shortly after the end of the 79th session of the State Executive Council meeting on Thursday.
Governor Dickson who explained the reason for the resignation, said it was a mutual agreement between him and the former SSG who is a lawyer.
The former SSG is the traditional ruler of Ada-Ama, Twon-Brass in the Brass Local Government Area of the State.
The Governor, however, said the former SSG would remain part of the restoration administration and would be assigned roles when the need arises.
He thanked Dokubo Spiff for his contributions and sacrifices to the State.
“Chief Dokubo-Spiff served the state meritoriously, as Secretary to the State Government and I want to wished him success in all his future endeavors”, the Governor said.
Dokubo-Spiff had served as Acting Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party and later as substantive Chairman of the party, before his appointment as the Secretary to the State Government.
Meanwhile, the Bayelsa State Government has announced the appointment of Mr Tamunoye Alazigha and Barr. Mrs Funkazi Koroye-Crooks as Chairman and Secretary respectively of the Board of the Bayelsa Development and Investment Corporation (BDIC).
The Governor also confirmed Rev Thomas Zidafamor as the substantive Head of Service of the state at the Executive Council meeting.
