The Nigeria police has reported a significant operational gain within 48 hours of the launch of Operation KO S’AYE, a joint security initiative by the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands aimed at dismantling kidnapping and violent crime networks operating along the border communities of both states.

‎In a statement via official X, the police disclosed that operatives conducting coordinated clearance operations along the J3/J4 axis of Ogbere Forest in Ogun State, bordering Lagos, rescued five kidnapped victims during a fierce operation against suspected criminal hideouts.

‎The operation also led to the neutralisation of four suspected kidnappers, while four other kidnapping suspects were arrested. In addition, police apprehended 84 other suspects linked to various criminal offences.

‎Security operatives recovered arms, ammunition and other incriminating exhibits during the raids, further weakening the operational capacity of criminal gangs in the area.

‎The breakthrough marks an early milestone for Operation KO S’AYE, which was launched to flush out kidnappers, armed robbers and other violent criminals from forests, border communities and known criminal enclaves across Lagos and Ogun states.

‎Reaffirming its commitment to public safety, the Nigeria Police Force said it remains resolute in ensuring there is no hiding place for criminals through intelligence-led policing, sustained security operations and inter-state collaboration.

‎The Force reiterated that forests and other remote locations previously exploited by criminal elements would no longer serve as safe havens.
