Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Ese Idisi, has been allegedly killed.

The Deputy President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, confirmed his death in a statement, condemning in the strongest terms the “heinous murder.”

In a statement issued by his media adviser, Omo-Agege described the reported killing as a “barbaric act of violence” and an “attack on democracy and the democratic process in Delta State.”

He said, “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the brutal murder of our Acting LGA Chairman in Ethiope East LGA.
This act of violence is a stark reminder of the insecurity and lawlessness that has become a menace in our state.

“I condemn this heinous act in the strongest terms and demand that the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, and the Inspector General of Police leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

“The killers who had previously boasted of eliminating their political enemies in the Local Government Area must be arrested, prosecuted, and punished for their crime.

“I must reiterate that killing is not our culture in Delta APC. Our culture is winning hearts one person at a time.

“Those who are trying to import this evil act into our body polity in APC must desist immediately, as we will do everything within our power to resist this unacceptable evil culture of violence.

“We will not be intimidated or deterred by acts of violence and lawlessness. We will continue to work towards building a peaceful and democratic society where the rule of law is supreme,” he stated.

Senator Omo-Agege commiserated with the family, friends, and the APC family in Ethiope East LGA, assuring them that justice will be served, and called on the security agencies to take immediate action to apprehend the killers and ensure that they face the full weight of the law.
