Be Wary Of Recruitment Fraudsters, Fed Poly Orogun Cautions Job Seekers

The Management of the Federal Polytechnic Orogun, Delta State has raised the alarm over activities of scammers promising jobs and asking for payment from unsuspecting job seekers applying for various positions in the institution.

The institution, in a statement by its Registrar, Mrs. Christine Aluyi, on Sunday, advised job seekers not to fall victim to the activities of fraudsters using the name of the institution to defraud them.

The statement reads; “The attention of the Management of the Federal Polytechnic Orogun, Delta State has been drawn to the activities of some persons using the name of the institution to defraud unsuspecting Applicants seeking employment in the institution.

“The Polytechnic, by this notice cautions Applicants to be wary of fraudsters posing as the institution’s officials to extort them. The members of Management of the Polytechnic will not ask Applicants to pay for job offers. Consequently, Applicants who pay money to anyone in order to be favoured to get employment does so at their own risks.

“Furthermore, this is to notify the General Public that the Management of the Polytechnic did not authorise anyone to disseminate information on behalf of the Polytechnic on social media or elsewhere. The Management of the Polytechnic hereby disassociates itself from any illegal public notices with regard to employment. Those behind these fake social media platforms are hereby advised to close these platforms or face the wrath of the law.

“Members of the public are hereby advised to be vigilant always and to avoid being victims of the activities of fraudsters on fake Facebook, WhatsApp, websites, etc. pages”.
