How 2 Pakistani “Cocaine Lords” Used Fake Nigerian Residency Cards To Beat Security For High-Profile Deals

Details have emerged how two Pakistani businessmen were arrested and detained by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with eight kilograms of cocaine at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), in Lagos.

This was stated in a statement released by Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA’s spokesperson, on Sunday in Abuja.

According to Mr. Babafemi, the suspects tried to board a Qatar Airways flight to Lahole, Pakistan, via Doha with the drugs hidden in a public address system.

He claimed that Asif Muhammed, 45, and Hussain Naveed, 57, two suspects with allegedly fake Nigerian residency cards, frequently travelled there to transact textile business.

They were arrested on Saturday at the Lagos Airport, he claims, just one week after arriving in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, operatives at the Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc (SAHCO) import shed of the airport on Friday seized 13 cartons of Tramadol 225mg and 200mg, imported from Karachi, Pakistan.

Mr Babafemi said the consignment had a weight of 465.10kg and 642,800 pills of the pharmaceutical opioid.

“The previous day, Thursday, operatives at the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc ( NAHCO) export shed of the airport also intercepted a consignment of different illicit drugs.

“This included Cannabis, cocaine and Methamphetamine as well as Tramadol 225 mg and Rohypnol concealed in footwears and soap packs going to UAE, Dubai.

“A 32-year-old Oladitan Serah Olufunmilayo, who presented the consignment for export, was arrested,” he said.
