Corruption Fighting Back: EFCC Boss Bawa Speaks On Scandalous Exit Of His Predecessors

- Says IGP has been informed about threat of his life
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, on Thursday, spoke about the scandalous exits of his predecessors.
He said the EFCC as an organization see scandalous exits of for heads of the commission as ‘corruption fighting back’.
Bawa spoke while during the weekly Ministerial Briefing organized by the Presidential Media Team at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to Bawa, those who the EFCC have denied the enjoyment of an illegally acquired wealth, will naturally see them as enemies.
He added that such persons who had been stopped and made to relinquish illicitly acquired assets always go out to embarrass and the get their pound of flesh from the official deemed to have been their nemesis.
He further disclosed that some persons had already started a move to tarnish his image, moving round and securing services of media outlets to execute the plot against him and make him suffer the fate of his predecessors.
He also said that his life is under threat and he has alerted the Inspector General of Police via a telephone conversation but he will be doing so formally soon.
The EFCC boss was responding to a question on if he was not concerned how his predecessors were removed from office.
