COVID-19: We Erred In Our Calculation Of Cases — NCDC

Published

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said it erred when it declared the total number of persons infected by the Coronavirus Disease on Friday as 220.

The lead agency in the battle against COVID-19 in Nigeria said this on its Twitter handle on Saturday.

The figure earlier given on Friday was 220, including 26 new cases said to have been confirmed the same day.

However, in an update on its Twitter handle on Saturday, the NCDC said it counted one of the cases twice.

It tweeted: “On 3rd of April 2020, we reported 26 new cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. An error has been discovered in this report as follows:

“There were 25 new cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. The 26th case was a repeat result of a previously confirmed case and NOT a new case.”
