House of Representatives Member-Elect for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu, has threatened to sue one Nnabuife Anthony Elue for N1billion if he fails to apologize and retract the purported defamatory statements made about him in the media.

Elue had according to Elumelu made “vile, denigrating, false and malicious publication” where he alleged that the latter attempted to snatched his lawfully wedded wife and had threatened to kill him.

But Ndudi Elumelu Campaign Organization Director General, Hon. Anene Chigbue, had since in a rejoinder made available to BIGPEN Online denied the allegations, describing them as false, baseless, unfounded and the handiwork of fifth columnists.

Elumelu’s lawyer A.C Okeibuno on Thursday 23 May, wrote a letter to Elue demanding a comprehensive retraction of the said publication in several media outlets, failure of which a N1 billion lawsuit for damages, will be slammed on him subsequently.

The letter reads: “It is our clients’ instruction that you, within Seven days of service of this letter, retract this false, malicious and defamatory publication, through six National Dailies circulating in Nigeria, the Internet, other social media platforms where the said publications were made and tender a written apology to our client.

“However, if our client’s humble request cannot be met, we have his further instructions to institute an action for defamation and N1, 000, 000, 000 (One billion naira) damages against you”
