The Prophet Jones Erue-led All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State has described Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment as ‘dishonourable Minister’.

The party chairman said that Ngige was putting up ‘dishonourable show of shame and grandstanding” following his persistence refusal to inaugurate the NSITF board under the chairmanship of Frank Kokori.

Erue in a statement issued in Asaba on Thursday described the failure to swear-in Kokori, whom he described as renowned unionist, anti-corruption activist and leader of the APC and the events leading to the sponsored physical molestation of both the NLC President Ayuba Wabba, NUPENG President William Akporeha and other Labour leaders who were on a peaceful protest to his residence to demand he complies with President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive to inaugurate Chief Frank Kokori’s NSITF board as disgraceful and unbecoming of a government functionary.

The statement which was signed on his behalf by Nick Ovuakporie, Director, Communications of the party, quoted Erue as saying that the face-off between Dr. Ngige and the NLC leadership was avoidable had the Minister complied with Presidential directive and listened to the voice of reasoning.

“The party also recalled the intervention of its National leadership under the pragmatic and focused chairmanship of His Excellency, the comrade governor Adams Aliu Oshiomhole who sometimes ago expressed dismay over Dr. Ngige’s high handedness and total disregard for the office of the President and Commander in Chief for his blatant refusal to inaugurate Chief Frank Ovie Kokori as NSITF board Chairman as repeatedly directed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

“And wonders what Ngige seeks to achieve with his unilateral lordship of the NSITF as sole administrator/supervising Minister in clear breach of the extant laws through his continuous disrespect for constituted authorities.

“The party is of the view that Dr. Ngige maybe concealing an infraction which he doesn’t want law enforcement agencies to be privy to, by executing the bidding of his dishonourable friend and collaborator in Delta State who is trying to foist his personal employee through the back door to help further cover the abnormalities that may have been perpetuated in the NSITF overtime.

“His collaborator, who himself has a perchant for disecrating the office of the President and disregard for party discipline as openly displayed in his led attack brazenly carried out at the National convention of the APC at a time Mr. President was reading his speech at the eagle square Abuja.

“The party condemns in totality any act of brigandage that is inimical to the progress of the APC change matra as being exhibited by Dr. Ngige while calling on him to stop name dropping Mr. President to cover his tracks rather, he should do the needful and inaugurate Chief Frank Ovie Kokori as NSITF board Chairman without further delay if he has nothing sinister to conceal”.
