BREAKING: Emerhor-Led APC Cease Fire On Opposition Against Ogboru, To Work For Victory Of APC’s Candidates

Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor and the mainstream factional APC in the state have agreed to cease fire on their opposition against the candidacy of Chief Great Ogboru, the party’s governorship candidate and other APC candidates from the other faction.

The MDA however maintained their loyalty and unflinching support for the Olorogun O’tega Emerhor leadership and the Chief Cyril Ogodo-led factional State Exco of the party.

The resolution was reached after a caucus meeting held at Enwreni, Ughelli North local government area of the state on Tuesday.

BIGPEN ONLINE reports that the meeting comes a day after President Muhammadu Buhari, represented by Vice president, Yemi Osinbajo met with stakeholders of the party to galvanized support for the party’s governorship candidate and reconciled the aggrieved members ahead the Saturday’s governorship and State Assembly elections.

According to a statement by Chief Alfred Oloko, Coordinator of the mainstream and Barr. Awele Van-Nwoko, Leader MDA, “the MDA resolved to work assiduously for the victory of APC and all its candidates in the forthcoming Governorship and State House Assembly elections of March 9, 2019, in Delta state”.

Notwithstanding, the Mainstream Delta APC, (MDA), however passed “a vote of absolute confidence in the able leadership of Olorogun O’tega Emerhor OON and the Chief Cyril Ogodo led State Exco of the party and pledges to continue to support them in the onerous task of leading APC in Delta State to greater heights”.

“The MDA congratulates President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR and Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo GCON on their well deserved sweeping victory at the Presidential election of February 23, 2019. The MDA thanks Nigerians for giving our President four more years to move Nigeria to the next level of progress and development.

“The MDA thanks all its members, particularly the 4000 canvassers it inaugurated for the door to door campaign leading up to the presidential and national assembly elections of February 23, 2019 for their hard work in ensuring that Delta APC gave our president over 25% votes in Delta State”.
