Sowore Blasts Adeleke Over Tinubu Visit Amid Osun Violence

Published

on

Political activist and Presidential candidate of the Africa Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has taken a swipe at Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, following his Thursday visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Sowore, in a statement reacting to the meeting, described Adeleke as aligning with Tinubu despite their political differences, suggesting that the visit had further cemented an understanding between the two politicians.

The meeting came amid heightened political tensions in Osun State following the recent governorship election and reports of violence linked to the electoral process.

Sowore also raised concerns over casualties allegedly recorded during election-related violence in the state. He claimed that nearly 50 people had been killed, including a man who was reportedly shot in Osogbo on Wednesday near the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo.

The Osun State Police Command has confirmed that it is investigating the shooting incident in which 60-year-old Tajudeen Yusuf was reportedly shot at Itaolokan, Osogbo.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, while authorities have not established the claim that the victim was killed as part of a political sacrifice or in connection with any individual.

Sowore’s comments reflect the growing political criticism surrounding the aftermath of the Osun election, with concerns mounting over violence, political alliances and accountability for those responsible for attacks.
