Nollywood actress and the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Abia State governorship election, Doris Ogala, has sparked mixed reactions on social media after declaring that residents of the state have “no choice” but to accept her as their next governor.

Ogala made the remarks during a TikTok Live session, where she expressed confidence in her governorship ambition, insisting that her emergence as governor was divinely ordained.

“I, Doris Ogala, as your governor, you don’t have choice. Doris will be your governor, you don’t have choice. God has said it, so shall it be. It is very simple, why don’t you get that?” she said in the viral video.

The video quickly gained traction across social media, drawing diverse reactions from Nigerians.

While some users applauded her confidence and described her statement as an expression of faith in her political ambition, others criticised the remarks as presumptuous, arguing that no candidate can claim victory before an election is conducted. Several commenters also maintained that the decision on who becomes Abia’s next governor rests solely with the electorate through the ballot.

Her entry into partisan politics has continued to generate public interest, with many closely following her transition from the entertainment industry to the political arena ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
