‎Beware: Dennis Osadebay University Warns of Fraudulent Nursing Admission Ads

The management of Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba, has issued a strong disclaimer warning prospective students, parents, guardians, and the general public against a fake and fraudulent advertisement claiming to offer admission into the institution’s Nursing programme through a purported Post-UTME exercise.

‎In a statement published in the university’s newsletter dated June 6, 2026, the institution disclosed that unscrupulous individuals and racketeers were circulating false admission information designed to deceive unsuspecting candidates seeking admission into its Nursing programmes.

‎The university categorically stated that it had not authorized any individual, group, agent, or third party to advertise, process, or collect money on its behalf for admission into any of its academic programmes, including Nursing.

‎According to the management, members of the public should disregard such fraudulent advertisements and avoid making payments or submitting personal information to individuals or platforms promoting the illegal scheme.

‎The university emphasized that anyone who deals with such fraudsters does so at his or her own risk.

‎The institution further clarified that all information relating to admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session is released only through its official communication channels and approved platforms.

‎Prospective applicants were advised to verify all admission-related information directly with the university before taking any action.

‎DOU disclosed that it had already reported the matter to the appropriate security agencies for investigation and prosecution of those behind the fraudulent activity.

‎Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, integrity, and due process in its admission procedures, the university urged members of the public to remain vigilant and be wary of scammers seeking to exploit admission seekers.

‎The management reiterated that only information published through official university channels should be considered authentic and advised candidates to exercise caution when responding to admission advertisements circulating on social media and other unofficial platforms.

‎Dennis Osadebay University maintained that safeguarding the integrity of its admission process remains a top priority and assured prospective students of a fair and transparent admission exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session.
