Delta: Drug Baron Among Four Cartel Members Arrested as Police Recover Fabricated Firearm from Cultist

Four suspected drug peddlers have been arrested by operatives of DOPS Bufallo patrol team of the Delta State Police command in what the police described as a major raid against sales of Illicit drugs in the state.

The arrest was carried out in collaboration with members of Achalla Ibusa Vigilante.

Among the four suspects is a drug baron popular called ‘Madam do good’ who was held followed a sting operation at the residence in Asaba, the state capital.

Delta Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe, in a statement on Sunday, said that the patrol team, had on March 17, stormed the residence of the drug baron at Power line Axis in Asaba and recovered illicit susbstance such as Ice, Collorado, Canadian Loud, weed suspected to be Indian Hemp, tramadol.

He said that during the operation, four suspects, namely, Faith Uyaterimo, Peter Nnamani, Paul Nnamani, Abuchi Miracle and three others were arrested.

The suspects and exhibits are in custody while the investigation is ongoing, he added.

In a related development, operatives of Ekpan Police Station, on March 19, also arrested one suspected cultist in possession of one locally fabricated cut-to-size single-barrelled gun with two live cartridges.

The police spokesman disclosed that officers had stormed Wangwe College, on March 19 acting on credible intelligence relating to activities of one Ovie Ejeh (male), aged 18 years, of No 12 Agbasa Community, Warri.

“Upon receipt of this information, operatives of Ekpan Police Station stormed Wangwe College, where the suspect was arrested.

The suspected cultist, was acting in a suspicious manner along Wangwe College, Warri before he was arrested, he said.

“During a search of his person, one locally fabricated cut-to-size single-barrelled gun with two live cartridges was recovered. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to being a member of a cult group. Suspect and exhibit have been taken into custody”, he added.

Edafe recalled that the State Commissioner of Police had during the last officers’ conference mandated DPOs and tactical commanders to embrace a proactive policing strategy, noting that in modern Policing, it’s the way to go about crime fighting.

The CP also warned that drug dealers will be fished out of their place of abode, arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
