Isoko North Boss Urges Politicians to Keep Doors Open, Hails Okpobor, Ashakah

The chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Godwin Ogorugba, has charged public office holders, particularly elected officials to operate open door policies and be accessible to the people who entrusted them with leadership.

The council chairman emphasized that the electorates who elected them deserve a sense of belonging and should feel connected to their leaders at all times.

Ogorugba gave the charge on Friday while speaking at the empowerment programme and Christmas reach out held within the local government area organised by the Executive Director of Finance and Administration of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Kome Okpobor.

Commending Okpobor for his generosity, Ogorugba said, “You have willingly chosen to empower our people, and I pray that God blesses you for this noble act. The initiative aligns with the vision of the state leadership. You are following the directive of our Governor to extend the hand of empowerment to our people. As Archbishop Benson Idahosa rightly said, “amassing wealth for personal consumption is poverty in disguise.”

The council chairman also praised the Chief Security Officer, (CSO) of Tantita security company, Orobosa Ashakah for his compassion and commitment to the welfare of widows, despite not currently holding any public office.

“I commend Orobosa Ashakah for showing love to widows across the local government. This is a clear reminder that leaders, especially those in public office, must always open their doors to their people,” he stated.

The event witnessed the empowerment of 500 women and girls across Isoko North and Isoko South at the Iyede country home of Okpobor and an end-of-year party and Christmas reach out for widows across Isoko North, organised by Orobosa Ashakah at his Ozoro country home.
