Isoko North Chairman Celebrates Nigeria’s Military Professionalism, Dedication

The chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Godwin Ogorugba, has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their professionalism, courage, and unwavering dedication to duty, describing their sacrifices as the foundation of the peace Nigerians continued to enjoy.

Ogorugba who stated this Thursday during the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony held at the Isoko North Council Pavilion, Ozoro, reaffirmed the council’s steadfast commitment to supporting veterans and their families, stressing that their welfare remains a priority of his administration.

According to Ogorugba who was represented by his Vice, Evelyn Aluta, “As we honour our fallen heroes, we remember their selfless service and unwavering commitment to duty, as well as the values that bind our society togethercourage, loyalty, and sacrifice.

“Your professionalism and dedication are truly the bedrock of our peace. As a council, we remain committed to strengthening initiatives that honour your service, promote your welfare, and support your transition and well-being both during and after active service.”

Ogorugba who used the occasion to called on residents of Isoko North to take the security of lives and property seriously, noted that security is a collective responsibility.

“To the people of Isoko North, security is a shared responsibility. The safety of lives and property within our local government will always be a top priority. We will continue to work closely with security agencies, the state government, and the federal authorities to protect our communities, deter threats, and respond swiftly to emergencies,” Ogorugba added.

Ogorugba also reaffirmed the council’s alignment with the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Government under Sheriff Oborevwori, as well as the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The council chairman however noted that these frameworks prioritize veterans’ welfare, access to quality healthcare, expanded educational opportunities, strengthened public safety, vocational training, and employment pathways, particularly for the children of fallen heroes.

D.E Idowu, Army Commander Isoko North; CSP. A.M Mohammed, Rep. Area Commander; CSP. Philip Dantawaye, D.P.O, Otor-Owhe Division.

Others includes Mrs Ijeoma O. DSS Director, Isoko North; CSC Isikwei Christian, Civil Defense Officer; Iloho Thompson , Legion Chairman; Dr. Okeleke, CAN Chairman, Isoko North;Bishop Dr. Edward Emanueta, PFN Chairman, Isoko North; Pst. Victor Oyebade, Resident Pastor, LFC, Ozoro; Comr. Jude Ogwologho, DOP to Chairman; Comr. Erero Oloku, SA to the Chairman; Comr. Johnson Ogheneviyeze, NYCN, Chairman, Isoko North Chapter, among others.

Highlight of the occasion was the laying of wealths by the council chairman, heads of security agencies in the council and host of others.
