‘2025, A Year of Remarkable Great Achievements’ – Isoko North Chairman
The chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Godwin Ogorugba has said, 2025 calendar year is a year of remarkable great achievements and fulfillment for the people of Isoko North.
He spoke at the 2025 Isoko North Annual Thanksgiving and Christmas Carol held at the council secretariat, Ozoro, administrative headquarters of the council.
He noted that the year has been marked by significant accomplishments, particularly in the area of infrastructural development and the people of Isoko North are pleased with the efforts and progress recorded under his administration over the past year.
According to Ogorugba, “The confidence expressed by the State governor, Sheriff Oborevwori during the recent mega projects commissioning further affirmed the council’s direction. During the commissioning of our mega projects, the Governor expressed satisfaction with the quality of work delivered and commended the strides made by our administration in Isoko North Local Government.
“I want to also express gratitude to God for his protection, within the year under review, no staff accident or death was recorded. God has truly been faithful to us. I harbour no ill feelings toward anyone, constructive criticism is always welcomed. I urge people to offer sincere advice rather than engage in gossip and blackmail. If I am doing anything wrong, I expect correction, not backbiting. As a government, we welcome advice that will help us grow and move forward. I want to use this opportunity to extend forgiveness to anyone I may have offended and I ask for forgiveness in return.”
The council boss while expressing a heartfelt appreciation to his wife, Deaconess Veronica Ogorugba, and his children for their unwavering support, also thanked the legislative arm, council management staff, and political appointees for their understanding and cooperation, noting that the thanksgiving was a collective celebration of the successes recorded by everyone.
Ogorugba however explained that he did not invite many leaders to the event, as they had all been present during last month’s mega project commissioning.
Delivering a short sermon with the theme “Ebenezer: Hitherto the Lord Has Helped Us,” the Bishop of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Diocese of Ozoro, Rt. Rev. Benjamin Idume, reminded everyone that many people pass through life without pausing to recognise the milestones they achieve daily.
The cleric described thanksgiving as a golden opportunity to acknowledge God’s faithfulness, stressing that remembering milestones naturally inspires gratitude.
