2027: INEC Fixes Monday to Begin Display of Preliminary Voter Register in Delta’s LGAs
As the general election of 2027 approaches, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Delta State Office, will begin displaying the Preliminary Voter Register for claims and objections across the state on Monday, December 15.
The exercise will take place in all 25 INEC local government area offices in the state, running daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., according to a press release issued by the commission on December 11.
According to a press release signed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Sir Etekamba Udo Umoren, the display will end on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
INEC explained in the statement that the exercise is in accordance with the Electoral Guidelines and is intended to correct any anomalies that may have occurred during the recent voter registration exercise.
The Commission stated that this is necessary to ensure the production of an accurate and credible voter register, which is still a critical tool for conducting free, fair, and credible elections.
The Commission urged eligible voters in the state to use the opportunity to visit INEC offices in their respective local government areas to verify their information, ensure their names are correctly entered, or report instances of omission.
INEC also encouraged the public to object to the inclusion of names of deceased people, minors, or any other questionable entries in the register.
