Naira Abuse: EFCC Arrests Female Archbishop in Viral Video Showing Worshipers Spraying Notes on a Live Cow

The Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arrested Archbishop Angel Oyeghe on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, for conspiracy, naira mutilation, and suspected money laundering.

The self-proclaimed Archbishop, the founder of Faith Healing Ministry in Warri, Delta State, was arrested following a viral video in which several people under her supervision were seen spraying naira notes on a live cow during a church service.

The Commission is looking for more suspects to arrest because their actions violate Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act of 2007.

Archbishop Oyeghe has made useful statements and will be charged in court as soon as the investigations are completed.
