The Senator representing Delta North, Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, has been commended for his ongoing community projects across Delta North Senatorial District.

The Obi of Issele-Mkpitime Kingdom in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Obi Sunday Ubaka Ogboli, made the commendation during a visit to his palace at the weekend.

The monarch thanked the senator for honoring his word and visiting the community following earlier engagements on key development issues.

The senator, who was warmly received at the palace on Saturday, June 7, by the Obi and traditional cabinet members, was hailed as a man of integrity who does not make empty promises.

The visit follows a previous meeting in Abuja, where the community had drawn the senator’s attention to the need for an equipped ICT Centre and access road.

Addressing the senator during the visit, the Obi expressed his gratitude and used the opportunity to renew some of the community’s longstanding requests.

“If I list out all the requests I have, you might take off running,” the monarch said humorously. “But just like Oliver Twist, I must ask for more. However, I do not take this visit for granted. You have shown that you still carry our needs in your heart. When you thank a doer, he is encouraged to do even more. As you leave, you will always return in peace.”

In response, Senator Nwoko reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and gave assurances that the ICT Centre project was “a done deal.” He noted that his focus is not just on constructing buildings but on ensuring that such projects are fully equipped, functional, and secure.

“We will ensure that the centre is equipped with 100 computers, smart televisions, and internet access for at least five years. We are also doing an additional three kilometers of road construction within Issele-Mkpitime”, he said.

The senator also announced that in addition to the students from the community already benefiting from his scholarship programme, five more indigent youths from Issele-Mkpitime will be offered full scholarships to study at his Sports University.

Also announced during the visit by Senator Nwoko’s Chief of Staff, Dr. Michael Nwoko, was the inclusion of Issele-Mkpitime among the beneficiaries of ERGP project code 20260464, focused on the construction of classroom blocks across Delta North. Six communities are scheduled to benefit under this phase, with Issele-Mkpitime listed among them.
