The Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda has ordered an investigation into allegations that the Ekpan Division converted a stolen car into a patrol vehicle.

In a now-trending video, the vehicle owner, identified as Ogoro Miffy, said his car got stolen when he attended a church programme in 2015.

He explained that after discovering the theft, he went to the Ekpan Division of the police to file a report.

“Them say make I go print paper for stolen vehicle. I even distribute am for them,” the Warri resident said.

Miffy said he got a shock of his life in 2017 when he saw the same car being used as patrol vehicle by the Ekpan Division.

Miffy said he took the matter to court and the case was decided in his favour on July 19, 2018.

He said the court ordered the police to pay him N10 million damages.

Miffy said the police appealed the decision.

“Is it their right to use my motor? Because I don’t have a helper, they are oppressing me. I was using the motor to manage my life, but now things are tough. Come to my rescue,” he begged social activist, VeryDarkMan.

Responding, the Delta police spokesman said the CP has ordered an investigation into the matter.

“The Commissioner of Police Delta State CP Olufemi Abaniwonda has ordered an investigation into the matter.

“It happened a long time ago and almost all key actors in the matter have retired.

“However, injustice is injustice and that’s what the CP does not tolerate.

“It doesn’t matter how long it happened. The man has a valid case and it will be looked into as directed by the CP,” Edafe said.
