Anioma: Group Rallies Support For Ned Nwoko On State’s Creation

The renewed quest for the creation of Anioma state championed by Senator Ned Nwoko representing Delta North Senatorial District at the National got a boost weekend at Asaba,Delta state capital as a pressure group known as De Believers organization emerged to help drive the Anioma agenda.

Over 200 socio -cultural and sectarian groups including traditional institution, youth bodies,faith based institutions and civil society organizations across the country have earlier formed a bulwark in solidarity with Senator Ned Nwoko towards the actualization of Anioma,following a bill the outstanding federal lawmaker initiated last year on the floor of the Senate

At the inauguration of the De Believers group at Asaba ,stakeholders drawn from various communities in the 9 local government areas of Delta North and different political affiliations affirmed their support to Senator Nwoko’s advocacy for the creation of Anioma.

The convener of De Believers group Hon. Nicholas Ossai Ossai ,former member of House of Representatives ,Ndokwa/ Ukwuani federal constituency said the body stands in the forefront of Anioma state creation movement and aligned strongly with the ” patriotic and noble efforts ” Senator Ned Nwoko who had rekindled the age old quest spanning over 50 years.

Hon Ossai Ossai noted that Anioma remained a compelling historical desire acceptable to all as the pathway to social , economic and political Renaissance of Anioma people.

He commended Senator Ned Nwoko for “his foresight and doggedness in igniting the glow of Anioma agitation” and urged unity and oneness from all to make the dream a reality.

Speaking in an interview, the head Senator Ned Nwoko senatorial office Asaba, High Chief Ugo Asibelue said Senator Nwoko was “selflessly and irrevocably committed to the actualization of Anioma which culminated in the much celebrated Anioma stakeholders summit held last year at the Delta state capital.

Various stakeholders at the maiden meeting of the De Believers group called for cooperation from all quarters and said the Anioma movement was a proper step towards ensuring equitable representation and balanced regional development.

They further noted that creating additional states, including Anioma State will not only bring equality in the region but also address issues like insecurity, hunger, poverty and unemployment.

The group commended Senator Ned Nwoko for his impactful representation and pushing the bill for Anioma State Creation project which has garnered significant backing from thousands of stakeholders within and outside the State.
