Aiyedatiwa Wins Ondo Governorship Election, Secures First Term As Governor

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the Ondo State governorship election, securing a landslide win.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Aiyedatiwa, winner of the Saturday’s governorship election at state collation centre, Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital.
According to Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi, the returning officer, Aiyedatiwa garnered 366,781 votes, surpassing his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 117,845 votes while African Democratic Party’s Adeyemi Nejo came third with 4,138.
“Aiyedatiwa Lucky Orimisan of the APC, having satisfied all the requirements of law and scored the majority of the lawful votes, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected,” Akinwunmi, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja, Kogi, declared.
Aiyedatiwa won all 18 local government councils in the state to clinch a landslide victory.

With this landslide victory, Aiyedatiwa has now secured his first four years term as Ondo State governor after constitutionally wrapping up Akeredolu:s tenure.
