Anioma State Creation Will Resolve Imbalance Of States In South East – Sen. Joel-Onowakpo
Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas representing Delta South Senatorial District, has threw his weight behind the bill for the creation of Anioma State.
The bill, being championed by Senator Ned Nwoko (Delta North) as part of the ongoing review of the 1999 constitution (as amended) as passed first reading in the red chambers.
Joel-Onowakpo, in a post on his official X handle on Thursday, posited that the creation of an Anioma State, will give way for creation of a truly Delta State.
He said that the creation of the new state would also resolve the imbalance of states in the South-East geo-political zone of Nigeria.
He wrote; “As the senator representing Delta South senatorial district, I have followed with keen interest and I support the bill being sponsored by my colleague Sen Ned Nwoko for the creation of Anioma State in the ongoing constitutional amendment.
“The creation of the Anioma State will resolve the imbalance of States in South East geo political zone.
“It is also important to note that, the creation of Anioma State, will give way to the creation of a truly Delta State with the headquarter to be sited in a centrally acceptable place.
“I therefore urge every Nigerian to support the creation of Anioma State”.
