UPDATED: Fear, Anxiety Mount In Delta As Whereabouts Of Abducted Ex-commissioner Still Shrouded In Mystery

…Governor Oborevwori orders search for her.
…Police dismisses reports of her alleged killing
Fear and anxiety are mounting in Delta state as the whereabouts of Hon. Joan Mrakpor, also known as Ada-Anioma, a former member of the House of Representatives, Delta State House of Assembly, and an ex-commissioner, is still shrouded in mystery.
BIGPEN NIGERIA (https://bigpenngr.com) reports that the incident has thrown the state into a state of uncertainty going by the multiple reports of her reported murder, despite the fact that the Delta State Police Command has since refuted it.
Contrary to earlier reports, the Delta State Police Command confirmed that the news of Hon. Joan Mrakpor’s murder is false,” said SP Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer.
“Although she was abducted from her church premises in Asaba last Tuesday, resulting in the tragic death of two police aides attached to her, her abductors have yet to establish contact with the authorities.”
In a telephone conversation, SP Bright Edafe, said, “The news of her murder is false,” He also said that her family was yet to make any communication to the police about the purported claim which went viral on social media.
“Her abductors have not made any contact since they took her from her church premises and killed two police aides attached to her in Asaba last Tuesday.”, Edafe said.
It was gathered that her phones were intact right in the Church after she was taken away in a commando style by the gunmen.
THEWILL which broke the earlier report of her purported killing, has since deleted the story from its news website and apologized for the mix-up. “We pray that Ada Anioma is returned to her family safely,” said THEWILL.
It reported that the earlier report was published following information received from a very credible, high-ranking official in the Delta State government, who is very conversant with sensitive state matters in real-time.
The governor, according to THEWILL, had authorised the deployment of a team of security personnel to the bank of the River Niger in both Asaba and Onitsha to verify the development. They, however, returned without success.
“Even the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, was misled by the same information, because he had authorized the deployment of a team of security personnel to the bank of the River Niger in both Asaba and Onitsha to verify the development, Unfortunately, they returned without success on Thursday night”, the report reads.
A stunning video obtained by BIGPEN NIGERIA (https://bigpenngr.com) has shed light on the audacious attack by unknown gunmen who seized the former lawmaker, (Joan Mrakpor), from her church on Tuesday. The footage has set tongues wagging and raised questions about how the suspected kidnappers were able to brazenly drive their victim from DBS road to the Niger head bridge, ferry her away in a speedboat, and set the car they arrived in ablaze, all without being challenged.
