The crisis rocking the Rivers State House of Assembly on Wednesday took a new twist as Governor Siminalayi Fubara began the demolition of Assembly complex for possible renovation purpose.
BIGPEN NIGERIA (https://bigpenngr.com) reports that the demolition is coming a day after the Edison Ehie led faction of the Assembly obtained a restraining order against the former Governor Nyesom Wikes loyalists in the Assembly.
Following the development, the Governor on Wednesday morning presented the 2024 appropriation bill before rhe Ehie-led faction of the Assembly at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
About ten bulldozers were deployed to the Assembly complex around 6:am to commence the demolition exercise ordered by the Fubara’s administration.
The governor had promised to renovate the complex barely two months after fire gutted it.
Sources said the moves was a game plan by Governor Fubara to avoid impeachment by the opposing lawmakers loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike.
