South-South APC Backs Tinubu’s 2027 Bid as Sole Candidate, Endorse APC Govs in Major Political Scheme

APC stakeholders from Nigeria’s South-South region have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as their sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

“We hereby unanimously ADOPT Mr. President, HE, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as our SOLE CANDIDATE FOR THE 2027 Presidential Election and fervently appeal to the electorate in the South South Region and Nigeria to support him.

“We hereby unanimously ADOPT our APC Governors from the South-South Region as our SOLE GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES in their respective States in the 2027 gubernatorial elections and appeal to the electorate to vote massively for them in recognition of their outstanding performance and commitment to good governance”.

The landmark resolution, was passed at the South-South APC stakeholders’ meeting in Benin City on Saturday.

The meeting also celebrated the region’s recent political gains, including the appointment of Senator Godswill Akpabio as Senate President and the signing of the South-South Development Commission Act, which are seen as testament to Tinubu’s commitment to regional development.

Stakeholders lauded the President’s love for the South-South and his developmental projects like the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, emphasizing that these initiatives have cemented the region’s loyalty.

Furthermore, the gathering reaffirmed support for the South-South’s four APC governors, calling them “outstanding” leaders and urging the remaining two non-APC governors in the region to join the progressive fold.

The stakeholders also expressed confidence in the leadership of the APC in the South-South, led by Chief Victor Giadom, and praised the region’s elected officials and loyalists for their unwavering support.
