Agbi To Contractors: ‘All Project Standards Must Align With Governor’s Vision’, Inspects More Projects
Special Adviser to Delta State Governor on Project Monitoring and Audit, Engr. Goodnews Agbi, has expressed delight over the quality of work at a project site in Agbor, urging contractors in the state to maintain the high standards that aligned with the “MORE agenda” of the governor.
Agbi who went on project inspection alongside the Project Monitoring and Audit team, on Tuesday, emphasized the importance of contractors fully mobilizing back to site for project work.
At the construction site of the University of Delta State College of Medicine, the Agbi-led team met with workers on site and other engineers.
He commended the high standards being maintained, affirming that they align with the vision of the Governor and the “MORE AGENDA”.
However, he did highlight the need for minor corrections, requesting the on-site engineer to address them promptly.
The Special Adviser, meanwhile, praised the contractor for good workmanship saying the columns are in perfect alignment, the slump was ok and it was in tandem with the slump test shown to him earlier. He advised them to maintain the mix ratio.
During the inspection, Engr. Nkem Chiadike, the Regional Engineer overseeing projects in Agbor, revealed that some contractors were yet to commence work due to ongoing meetings with the Commissioner of Works.
However, she remained optimistic that these contractors would soon mobilize and begin their respective projects.
The inspected sites included Orikeze Avenue Junction, Obi, Enumah, Uromi Roads, and Orogodo River.
She handed over the Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation (BEME) to Engr. Agbi and was optimistic that the project will soon commence.
While assessing other roads, Engr. Agbi, noticed instances of project abandonment. Seeking explanations for this issue, Engr. Nkem could not provide any concrete reasons for the lack of progress.
Agbi told them to invite the Project Monitoring and Audit team when they have placed the formwork for inspection before pouring the first floor concrete slab.
He emphasized the Governor’s directive for projects to be completed on time and to high-quality standards.
The Special Adviser was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Esejo, Executive Assistants to the Governor, Sese Omu, Christian Amori, Senior Special Assistants, pastor Ken Atuya and others.
