BREAKING: PEPC Rules On APM’s Petition, Says Petition Against Shettima Abuse Of Court Process

The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) has dismissed the petition filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), challenging the nomination of vice president, Kashim Shettima.
The APM is, in its petition, seeking the nullification of the election of President Bola Tinubu on the grounds that the Vice President, Kashim Shettma was not validly nominated.
The petitioner alleged that Shettima was not qualified to contest the last presidential election because he allegedly submitted himself for double nomination in violation of Section of 35 of the Electoral Act.
The PEPC Chairman, Justice Haruna Tsammani ruled that the petition of APM is Pre-election matter and PEPC lacks jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the surrounding environment and roads leading to the Court of Appeal headquarters in Abuja have been effectively covered by security officials as at 7pm on Tuesday.
Men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) were seen moving materials from the nearby Force Headquarters to the Appeal Court headquarters, the sitting venue of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) preparatory to Wednesday’s judgment.
