Obi Floors PDP, APC Chieftains In 6 Delta LGAs As INEC Rejects Okowa’s LGA’s Result

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the Saturday’s election, Mr. Peter Obi has opened a decent lead in four local government areas so far collated in Delta State.

In Ika federal constituency comprising Ika North-East and Ika South LGAs, the cumulative score of LP is more than that of the PDP and the APC.

Vice presidential candidate of PDP and incumbent governor of the state, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa hails from Ika North-East.

Although, Okowa won in his local government, he however lost the entire constituency to LP.

In the result for Ika North-East as collated by the Electoral Officer, James Olisa, PDP scored 16696; LP – 8980; APC – 1902.

In Ika South, the locality of APC national publicity secretary, Felix Morka and former Executive Director (projects) on the board of NDDC, Dr. Cairo Ojuogboh, LP polled 17, 868; PDP – 7485; and APC – 3290.

In Aniocha North, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu could not deliver Atiku, as Obi also coast home to victory.

LP polled 11,678; PDP – 3783; and APC – 1146 in Aniocha North according to the Electoral Officer for Aniocha North, Mr. Emeke Onyeme.

LP also won in Ethiope West, the council area of James Ibori, a PDP national leader and former governor of the state.

Mrs. Josephine Crossdale who collated the result for Ethiope West gave the scores as LP – 10, 199; PDP – 5,463; and
APC – 3,850.

For Oshimili North, the locality of the Secretary to the State Government, Patrick Ukah and Senator Peter Nwaoboshi of the APC, LP garnered 14,929; PDP – 4,796; APC – 1688.

The result for Oshimili North was collated by Mr. Okonta Emmanuel.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rejected the result of the presidential election for Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state.

Ika North-East is the local government area of the vice presidential candidate of the PDP, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who is the incumbent governor of the state.

The result was rejected following discrepancies in figures as read out by the Electoral Officer for the local government, Dr. James Olisa.

Although, from the figures released, PDP won the locality, the total figures did not tally.

As a result, the state Collation Officer for the presidential election, Prof. Owuneri Abraham Georgewill said the result would not be accepted until the figures were reconciled.

According to results as read out by Dr. Olisa PDP scored 16696; LP – 8908; APC – 1902.

Meanwhile, the state Collation Officer for the presidential election, Prof. Owuneri Abraham Georgewill, has adjourned for break.
