Published

on

Electoral materials meant for Warri South Local Government Area, Delta state, are yet to leave INEC office as at 1:pm at Esisi road where sorting and distribution of sensitive materials is taking place.

Many voters within Warri South are disappointed that no INEC official including the ad-hoc staff are on ground to attend to the eligible voters who have besieged the various polling units in the area.

“No material yet at Ubeji, Egbokodo Itsekiri, Ifie and Ajaetan communities in Warri South.

“People are frustrated over the non-arrival of INEC officials and materials as at 12.30pm today”, one voter said.

INEC Electoral Officer in Warri, Delta State, Mr. Kingsley Ogboe had earlier told journalists the delay in sorting and distribution in the council area, was stemmed from late arrival of political parties agents for each polling units.

He said that sorting started since 5:30am but polling units agents came late in the morning hence the delay to dispatch the materials out.

Ogboe noted that Warri South is large, one reason distribution is taking time, he added.
