2023: Delta Journalist, Ahon Disowns Omo-Agege’s APC Media Campaign Team

Olorogun Festus Ahon, the chairman of INEC Press Corp., IPC in Delta State and state correspondent for the Vanguard Newspaper, has severed ties with the All Progressives Congress, APC media team assembled for Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s governorship campaign council in the state.

Ahon said that the campaign council did not seek his input before adding him to the media team in a succinct statement sent to journalists on Monday afternoon.

He said: “I was surprised when my attention was drawn to the list released by the campaign council on Monday morning that my name appeared under the media team. 

“As Chairman of IPC in Delta and staff of the Vanguard Newspaper, I should not be drafted into the media team of the APC campaign council.” 

“Also, as a professional journalist, I cannot take up membership of the media team of a campaign council.”
