IGP Orders Closure Of All Units Of IRT Under Embattled Abba Kyari

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has disbanded all satellite units of the Force Intelligence Response Team (IRT), under the command of suspended and now arrested, DCP Abba Kyari.
BIGPENNGR reports that the order was contained in a statement on Tuesday, by Force Deputy Public Relation Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, a day after Abba Kyari was arrested and handed over to National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA over alleged attempt to temper with narcotic exhibits.
Recalls that the IGP had on Monday, ordered the immediate transfer of Abba Kyari and four others to the NDLEA over alleged drug business.
Adejobi, in the statement had named others officers arrested as; ACP Sunday J. Ubua; ASP Bawa James; Inspector Simon Agirgba and Inspector John Nuhu.
NDLEA, had in a statement released by its spokesman, Femi Babafemi, confirmed the arrest of Kyari and four other police officers over alleged links with an international drug cartel.
The police had also accused some undisclosed operatives of NDLEA as being involved in the deal in which Kyari was indicted and urged NDLEA headquarters to fish out the personnel involved for interrogation and further investigation.
