2023: Otuaro, Manager, Angozi Meet In Warri, Express Commitment On Delta Governorship Race

As political consultations gather momentum on where the next Governor of Delta State should come from in 2023, the Ijaw for Governor team led by its leader,  Alaowei Broderick Bozimo, former Minister, Police Affairs invited Governorship aspirants of Ijaw extraction to brainstorm on the way forward.

The well attended closed door meeting saw His Excellency, Barr. (Dcn) Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Deputy Governor of Delta State and Sen. James E. Manager, Senator Representing Delta South Senatorial District, Dr. Braduce Amakazi Angozi, represented by his wife Mrs Angozi and other prominent Ijaw sons and daughters earlier today converged at the Warri residence of Broderick Bozimo where series of issues were tabled and discussed among the critical stakeholders that massively attended the meeting.

Briefing the press after the close door meeting, Alaowei Broderick Bozimo, stated that the meeting was to strategize on the way forward for the Ijaw people in Delta State ahead of 2023, stressing that he is thankful to the Ijaws for entrusting him with such an important task, assuring that as a team, they are going to deliver.

Speaking further, Alaowei Bozimo said the Ijaw for Governor 2023 lobby group under his leadership started its consultation in May 2021 and have covered a larger part of the state via senatorial districts and ethnic nationalities.

He noted that the meeting was to brief Ijaw political leaders and bring Delta 2023 Governorship aspirants from the Ijaw extraction to speak with one voice on the Governorship race.

The former Minister of Police Affairs, Bozimo said after x-raying the consultations so far and the responses from Deltans, it is certain that the coast is clear for the Ijaws to produce the next Governor of the state.

He said that the Ijaws should not be seen as only good at supporting others to produce Governor of the state only but deserved to be supported by other ethnic nationalities to be Governor as well, maintaining that the Ijaws are qualified in all ramifications.

In his words: “We have  been on the move consulting on behalf of the Ijaw nation to produce a governor in Delta State come 2023, we started since May 2021 and we have covered  huge grounds, the responses has been good, we are all excited as Ijaw people.

“We have discovered that the Governorship office of Delta State is just there for us to take. So we came here to give report to Ijaw Nation, particularly the  young people that are fit for 2023 Governorship election.

“This our gathering of conviviality and the electrifying love displayed by our Aspirants is so exciting. Deltans, this is the era for the Ijaws to rule this state. Delta Ijaws have supported others in becoming Governors of the state hence it is now our time to also enjoy the support of others to produce the next Governor of the state. We have consulted and i can assure you that the coast is now clear.

“The final resolution from the meeting will not be disclosed for now because we are still strategizing but we are in one accord”, Alawowei Broderick Bozimo stated.

Meanwhile, Bozimo had commended political leaders, Royal Fathers and various ethnic nationalities leaderships in Delta State for their positive responses, adding that a new era of uncommon transformational leadership is in the making come 2023.
