The Imo State Police Command on Sunday confirmed that ex-governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha, forcefully gained access into a property that was confiscated by the state government few days ago.
The alleged forceful entering, the police said led to the invitation of the ex-governor and serving senator for questioning by the Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Mohammed.
BIGPENNGR.COM reported that Okorocha, leading his security details had allegedly forcefully gained access into the seized property, a development which led to fracas between security details of the ex-governor and operatives attached to the sealed property.
Multiple reports say the former governor was arrested and handcuffed over the development.
But the spokesman of the State Police Command, Orlando Ikeokwu, said that the development led to Okorocha’s invitation for question and not arrest.
He said that Okorocha was invited for interrogation by the CP over his alleged involvement and forceful entry into a property that was confiscated by the state government few days ago.
According to him, the command received a distress call that there was commotion and violence at Royal spring palm hotel located at Akachi road in Owerri, allegedly linked to Okorocha’s wife, Nkechi.
