JUST IN: Olu Of Warri Dead Rumour: Palace Releases Refutal Statement

Rumours that Olu of Warri is dead which swept the internet throughout Monday morning till dusk, has been refuted.
BIGPENNGR.COM reports that the Olu palace administration on Tuesday afternoon debunked the wide spread rumour of the health status of the revered monarch.
The Olu, HRM Ogiame Ikenwoli, ‘is still alive’ but currently indisposed due to deteriorating health challenge, the palace has confirmed.
Against speculations that the Olu had died, the Director of Palace Administration, Chief Clement A. Maleghemi, in a statement Tuesday afternoon, insisted that the royal majesty is ‘indisposed’ and currently being attended to by a team of qualified medical specialist.
Recalls speculation were rife all through Monday that the paramount monarch passed on at the Lily Hospital, Warri.
Some report says his purported death might be as a result of COVID-19 complications as he might have contracted the virus following his recent contact with the Army GOC, Major General Johnson Olubunmi Irefin, who died from it recently.
But the palace said the speculations were untrue but agreed that the monarch was sick and his health status would be made public in due course by the office of the Traditional Prime Minister of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami, the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom.
The terse statement reads; “The attention of the Palace of His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, The Olu of Warri has been drawn to News/Social Media speculations announcing the sudden demise of His Majesty.
“We wish to notify the General Public that his Majesty is indisposed and currently receiving medical attention by a team of Qualified Medical Specialist.
“Any further information on the subject would be made known to the general public by the office of the Traditional Prime Minister of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami, the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom”.
