Mega FM Hails Delta Council, Police For Providing Enabling Media Environment In Warri

The cooperative mechanism between Warri South Council and the Police Area Command to curtail insecurity, have enhanced friendly media environment and boost businesses in Warri metropolis, Ejiro Umukoro, General Manager of Mega 89.1FM, said on Friday.
Umukoro stated this after a separate courtesy visit to the chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Michael Tidi and ACP Abubakar Ibrahim Arungugu, the Police Area Commander, Warri, Delta state.
Commending the council boss for his efforts at ensuring peace reign in Warri South and its environs, Umukoro harped on the need for more friendly community spirit to drive a more business enabling environment within the Warri metropolis and its environs.
She said that Mega FM is a community issue based and lifestyle radio brand, assuring Dr Tidi of the station’s commitment to be closer to the people and amplify the voices of the voiceless.
Responding, the council chairman, also commended the radio station for going the extra mile in maintaining a high broadcast standard.
He pledged to be supportive to the station’s forthcoming road show.
Meanwhile, the Police Area Command has urged the media to help strengthen the relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and members of the public.
The Area Commander, ACP Abubakar Ibrahim Arungugu, made the call while paying host to Mega 89.1FM team.
ACP Arungugu said that the media is a partner in progress as such should not hesitate to correct the police when they run afoul of their rule of engagement.
Responding, the General Manager of Mega 89.1FM, Warri, Ejiro Umukoro, said that the broadcast station would continue to do its part to enlighten members of the public that the Nigeria Police Force as a public driven institution needed to be protected particularly now at this critical point of policing in Nigeria following the recent #EndSARS protest.
