An orgy of violence being allegedly perpetrated by some youths under the guise of #EndSARS protesters, is spreading like wide fire to major part of Lagos state where several government and private facilities are being vandalised and set ablaze.

BIGPEN reports that the new dimension to the protest was fueled Tuesday night after some group of persons widely believed to be soldiers of the Nigeria Army Forces launched a major onslaught on the protesters who seized the ever-busy Lekki Toll Gate to prod the federal government to take drastic action on their demands.

It was learnt that the youths had targeted belongings of former governor of the state and APC national chairman, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, who they allegedly accused of masterminding the onslaught against protesters at the Lekki Toll gate.

The mobs also poured their anger on the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu following his moves to disperse them with a dusk to dawn curfew he imposed on residents as part of measures to curtail the wide spread protest.

BIGPEN gathered that the aggrieved youths apparently on a revenge mission for the shooting and maiming of some of the protesters had in a early hours of Wednesday mobilised and launched attack on several facilities in the metropolis belonging to government and private individuals.

It was learnt that while Governor Sanwo-Olu was at a television station Wednesday morning making a broadcast, the youths descended on his family house and set it ablaze. The mobs were said to have also looted a commercial bank in the metropolis after they launched attack on Television Continental (TvC) belonging to Tinubu.

Multiple reports say the mobs also torched a major terminal station of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) newly built by the state government. The palace of the paramount traditional ruler of Lagos was reportedly set ablaze while a hotel Oriental belonging to Tinubu was also not spared. Unconfirmed reports say the Oba staff of Office was snatched and taken away by the mobs.

Several media organisations including Channels Television were shut down because of the upheaval.

Witnesses told this medium that the premises of the Motor Vehicle Administration situated at Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos state was also burnt. The premises accommodate the offices of Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

According to witness, some impounded vehicles in the compound were gutted in the inferno.

As of the time of filling this report for publication around 2: 25 pm, Lagos was still boiling.
