The presidency has told former Speaker, Umar Ghali Na’Abba whom it described as ‘Flash-in-the-pan’ politician to go and sort himself out accordingly with the Department of State Service (DSS) and stop creating “publicity stunt” over his invitation by security agency.

This followed the former Speaker claims that he had been invited by the DSS following his criticism of the Buhari administration.

Na’Abba, who is a Co-chairman of the newly formed National Consultative Front, (NCFront), in a television programme had said that President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration “is incompetent.”

He claimed that the administration had failed woefully following unemployment, insecurity, economic hardship in the land in the last five years.

But Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, in a statement in Abuja on Sunday, urged the general public to ignore the claims.

He said that the widely circulated claims by Na’Abba that he was being invited by the DSS over the comments on the Buhari’s led administration were just “a publicity stunt” that doesn’t bother anyone.

”Our findings have revealed that Na’Abba’s invitation has nothing to do with his alleged utterances which, in any case, did not catch the attention of the Presidency, or of any serious politician for that matter.

”There are serious politicians who talk and the Presidency responds because such politicians make statements that must get attention.

”Flash-in-the-pan politicians and those who fabricate political relevance don’t bother anyone.

”We advise Na’Abba to distance the presidency from the situation he has found himself and sort himself out accordingly,” the statement said.

NCFront had in an earlier statement signed by its Head, Public Affairs Bureau, Dr Tanko Yunusa, claimed that the invitation by the security agency is as a result of the interview the astute politician granted on Channels Television on Thursday.

However, the statement said the NCFront National Co-Chairman has decided to honour the DSS invitation and therefore shall be visiting the DSS Headquarters in Abuja on Monday at noon.
