Dino Melaye: I Am Being Threaten Internationally To Back Off From 5G Issue

Dino Melaye, Nigeria’s former senator and social critic, has raised the alarm that he is being threatened internationally to stay away from the 5G network issue.

BIGPEN had reported that some Nigerians including the former senator, Dino Melaye had took to the mini website, twitter to protest the purported deployment of the Fifth Generation Mobile Networks (5G), calling for its demobilization.

His reaction came on the backdrop of speculations making the round that the 5G network was already operational in Lagos and Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Specifically, Melaye, in a tweet on Saturday, said that the 5G network which he claimed has been mounted in some parts of Nigeria, is evil, it kills the immune system, affects the respiratory system, causes cancer and hypertension and indirectly causing the deaths of coronavirus patients.

On Sunday, he raised the alarm in his verified twitter handle, that two international callers have threatened him over his stance on 5G network.

He said that the callers warned him to stay off the issue and that 5G is bigger that Presidents of nations.

His tweet reads: “I have received 2 international calls threatening me and warning me to back off the 5G issue. I was told by the last caller that 5G is bigger than Presidents of nations so i should stop. And i told him it is not bigger than God. I am not killable by man”.

BIGPEN recalls that Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, had earlier dismissed the claims that 5G was already in operational in some part of the country, saying that no licence has been issued for the deployment of 5G in the country.

He said that the Federal Government place a premium on the welfare, health and security of Nigerians and would not in its desire for technological advancement be part of anything that would hinder the health and welfare of citizens.

The minister, however said that the country had in 2019 conducted a 3-month study trial of 5G mobile network in order to critically review and study the health and security implications of deploying the network in Nigeria.

He said that the trial process has been concluded and the study and reporting process is currently ongoing.
