Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta state has emerged as Chairman of the South-South Governors’ Forum.
Okowa succeeded out-gone governor of Bayelsa, Dickson who concluded his two-term in office on Friday, February 14.
The Delta governor was reportedly selected after elaborate consultations, Dickson’s Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, said in a statement.
In a statement congratulating Okowa on his emergence, Dickson called on the governors to extend the same cooperation extended to him as chairman of the forum.
Dickson noted that the forum could only collectively proffer solutions to the myriad of challenges confronting the South-South region if the governors worked as a team.
